Creativity

We are loving how the children are bringing lots of creative ideas for Discovery.
These are always extremely popular.
Fynn had lots of curious children wanting to see if they could make a ping pong ball float in the air using a straw!

Sophia was fabulous at teaching her friends how to draw Mickey Mouse using circle shapes!.

Angus showed such focus when working hard to make his slippery slithering snake puppet!
Fern and Joel loved drawing their own monsters using jellybean and circle shapes!

Next week we hope to do some cooking using the potatoes we have grown in the garden!
We can't wait!

Tui had lots of fun at KEA camp with Aaron last weekend.
This week Tui is off to visit Jayvia and his family.  I can't wait to hear what adventures he gets up to.

The Garden.

Today Toni (Sarah's Mum) came all prepared to help out in our small garden.
She came with lovely horse manure
to add to the potting mix
that some of our families dropped off earlier.
We had extra help from Luke and Blake
 from Room 1.

We have planted in the tyres and pots.

The strawberries have a new space to grow.
We have used this recycled container filled with good horse poo.

Luke and Blake made teepees to cover some of our plants
to protect them from being eaten by bugs.

Toni knows a lot about growing plants and gave us very good advice.

We will remember to keep them watered.
So watch this space and see which plants are successful.

Fancy silver beet!

Celery!

Our class pet has asked to go on some adventures with the children in our class.
We look forward to hearing about what he gets up to with Aaron over the weekend!

These Bellbirds have been working very hard with Tracey for story writing.
They are learning to write  lots of new words and are so proud of the stories they write with her!

 Kapai Tamariki!

Thank you Maisie for the exciting experiment you have brought along to share with us at Discovery Time.  We can't wait to see what happens to the egg over the weekend.
We are already noticing some changes!

Thank you also to Matthew, Emily and Natalie for bringing this cool idea inspired by your reading book this week.  Alexa loved making hers!

We can't wait to see more ideas from children at Discovery Time as they are always the most popular with the other children!

Reflections about the Bellbirds

Being a Bellbird means a lot things.
Working together is probably one of the most important.

But also is being an individual.

We help each other with our Geometry tasks.

We build all sorts of things together.
Sometimes we become teachers and learn from each other.

We learn in different places.
And quite a few different spaces!
(Who can say watching from under a table isn't as important as any other place?)
We know that play IS learning and that learning happens anywhere.

Keep up it up Bellbirds.

We are proud of you.

Check out this duo!

Lucy and Saoirse have Irish Dads.

These two are ready to celebrate.

We hope their families in Ireland enjoy the day too.

Cooperation and Creativity

We work together in the Bellbirds.
Today there was lots of teamwork on display at Discovery Time.
Buddies helping each other learn how to use Kidpix to draw pictures and write text.

Sharing the tools and taking turns on the woodwork table.
Fun in the sun at the water trough!
Building giant towers together at the junk table.

We are so proud of our creative efforts!
We have  focussed and worked hard to create quality work.
Our smiles and sparkly eyes say it all!

Check out these amazing roses from Mrs Robinson's garden.
Can you believe they were all white at the beginning of the day?
I wonder why they changed colour?
We think they look beautiful!
