A parrot arrived in Sophia's garden!

Sophia was so excited to tell us about the parrot
 that arrived in her garden.
Her Mum sent these photos
for us to share on the blog.

He is so colourful and looks hungry too.

Matthew's Pheasant

Today Matthew and his mum brought a pheasant to school.

He eats ground up food and bread.

His name is Honey.

He is soft and pretty fast now.

He has a black mum.

He has sharp claws and he pecks sometimes.

Spectacular Statistics & Attitude

I get to do some very fun learning with the Bellbirds on a Monday and Tuesday each week.

The past few weeks have been all about collecting data about our lives using our skills in Statistics.
We discovered that we have more Blonde haired people in our classroom. We showed this in a graph. Great idea Mrs Robinson.

More people travel to school by car than anything else.

I was genuinely surprised that most of us were NOT afraid of spiders!!

I wasn't brave enough to add that I am really scared of the big ones.

We have learned many values this term to meet our REACH values in the Bellbirds. I particularly love our collective attitude.
 We are a great team.

 We work well together.

Be proud of your Bellbirds. They have a great attitude!!

Creativity

Bellbirds are very creative.

This was a careful process.
First we painted a background.
We also painted sugar paper to cut out our bird parts.
It was tricky glueing the birds.
Bellbirds are focussed so we just kept working.
We are very pleased with our finished display.

Kid Pix with Mrs. O'Loughlin
We are learning how to use the tools correctly.
Once again it is a careful process.

If we use the tools properly we can print our excellent work.
Thank you Mrs. O for all the time you spend helping us to get this right.

We have been busy Bellbirds!

We have 2 budding architects ,engineers or perhaps builders in our class.
They have loved  building and designing structures using the wooden blocks over the last 2 weeks.
Lucy is creative!  She made a cute cat.  She thinks it is pretty, wonderful and unique!

We have  explored how to make different colours using the colour paddles.
Fynn discovered that if you mix green and red you can make brown!

Olivia thought making her own monster was fun!
Her monster is a friendly monster with one eye. He is not real though!

Cooper enjoyed making sock puppets so much he made 2! They can talk to each other.

Please come in to our classrooms to see our fabulous fish.
We have been learning about the primary and secondary colours.

We love reading lots of stories at school.
Last week we read the story Elephant is Stuck.
We put on our  white hats to find out facts about elephants.
We also had to think of words that we could use instead of 'big'. We know heaps!

Today we  read the story Rabbit and Rooster's Ride.
We talked about  words that tell us how we move.
We can climb up and down a hill in lots of different ways!
We called these  doing words verbs!

Discovery is Great Fun!

The Bellbirds have had enormous fun today.

Emma thinks we are creative!
Tushil enjoyed building with the blocks.
Sophia liked making a Valentines Day card for her family.
Aziah  thought our Discovery time was awesome.

Matthew thought making coloured water from flowers was interesting.
He really liked squashing the flowers with the rolling pin.

Mitchell, Jayvia and Sione had cool fun building the  Brandenburg Gate!

Phoenix and Izaac thought blowing through a straw to make Frozen pictures was fun.
It was very popular.
